Frequently Asked Questions
Each year, the FCB strives to assist certified individuals complete the renewal process as smoothly as possible. This year, we are sharing the top three questions that we receive every year at renewal time.
Question #1: Am I being audited this year?
Answer: The FCB uses a random, computer generated selection process to identify individuals who must provide proof of current CEUs as part of their renewal requirements. Prior to invoices being run, the FCB cannot tell you if you will be audited or not. Please check your invoice.
Question #2: What is my username and password?
Answer: Your username and password is printed on your invoice. Please write this down for future use. If you have lost your invoice and/or your username/password, you may call the office for this information.
Question #3: Where can I get my CEUs?
Answer: The FCB accepts CEUs offered through a variety of sources. Please check your certificate: if it indicates any of the following approvals, you may use the CEUs to maintain your FCB credential.
1. An FCB approved provider. The certificate should indicate FCB and a provider number. Approved providers are listed on the FCB website.
2. A course approved by another licensing or certification board. The certificate should indicate the licensing or certification board name or acronym and a provider number.
3. A course offered by an accredited community college or university. Please provide a copy of your transcript and a brief course description.
Bonus Question:
I completed CEUs offered thru my employer. Are these acceptable?
A. Yes. The FCB accepts all employer in-services
B. No. The FCB does not accept employer in-service.
C. Maybe. The FCB accepts employer in-service from employers who are FCB approved providers and/or approved providers under another licensing or certification board.
The correct answer is answer C.
